Data Protection Issues
Facing data protection issues in Europe can seem like a jungle - and it is.
Since 2006, National DPA’s have had the autonomy to interpret the European Privacy Working Group guidelines. This creates confusion and even conflicting cumulative applications of national data protection laws. We assist our clients by offering them recent information about data protection regulations and informing our clients about the practicalities.
Another issue is that we often see data protection arguments being misused for other purposes. Part of our job is to point out where we believe this is the case. Our close cooperation with our clients enables us to judge possible underlying internal resistance within their organisation.
